About

The Public Institute for Facility Safety (PIFS) is an educational non-partisan organization designated as a 501(c)(3). Our mission is to provide educational materials to our elected officials, public policy experts, and the community at large, in order to provide awareness of the pressing infrastructure and infrastructure-related challenges and the many innovative solutions.

The Institute focuses on researching and publishing in-depth white papers and policy briefs on relevant infrastructure-related issues. In addition to this research, the Institute aims to educate both society and industry on best practices in the areas of safety and innovative technologies.

Together with NISF, the Institute forms a think tank known as the Alliance for Innovation and Infrastructure. For Aii, promoting innovative, proven practices and technology is the way to achieve policy centered around public safety and infrastructure resilience.

The Public Institute for Facility Safety is a nonpartisan, non-industry-specific third-party validator of innovative solutions. As a research and educational institute, we seek to understand and advance the best solutions across the infrastructure landscape. Working in conjunction with our social welfare organization the National Infrastructure Safety Foundation, we get the facts and produced independent, objective research.

We believe in educating every American about the systems and structures that power and support our daily lives. That means working with and educating industry leaders, policymakers, and key decisionmakers across the country. Our work centers around producing high-quality educational resources from one-pagers to policy briefs, policy blogs to white papers, and multimedia content to inform and engage all Americans.
