RE: Student Scholarship Competition
Washington, D.C. (September 1, 2023) – This Fall, the Alliance for Innovation and Infrastructure (Aii) launched its second annual Student OpEd Scholarship Competition. The contest, open to all enrolled students in higher education across all undergraduate and graduate programs in the U.S., seeks to engage young minds to think creatively to solve real-world problems across the country and in their communities.
The contest has two prompts: (1) solving decarbonization for hard-to-abate sectors in heavy industry and (2) solving stubborn local issues plaguing students’ communities for decades with seemingly no resolution in sight.
To enter, students pick a prompt, conduct their own original research to draft an article while citing to Aii research and educational material, then pitch their opinion article or OpEd to a publication of their choosing. Once they’ve made their pitch, students send the hyperlink to the published article or proof of submission and attached draft to Aii.
The key contest details:
- Grand Prize: $5,000
- Article: Max 900 words.
- Deadline: Nov 15, 2024, 11:59 pm EST.
